Biography
Ciro Ayala (10 May, 1981 Argentina) is an independent music video and film director known for his dark and surreal style. He also co-founded Provoke Films with Liu Ming Fei.
Inspired by the films of Steven Spielberg, Ciro began making movies at age ten with a Panasonic video camera, a gift from his parents. At age 15, Ciro edited videos for Interpol, Sport Championships and Identity Films, with his own Video Editing platform, installed at his bedroom. In 2000, at age 19, with the help of producer Facundo Marcías, Ciro wrote and directed his first independent movie, a 30 minutes suspense short called Disfraz. The movie was later shown in the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre International Film Festival for 3 consecutive years, as well as in Madrid and Paris.
Career in Asia
In 2002, Ciro left his University studies and moved to Taiwan. He went to work for several companies as 3D Architecture Designer, Art Director and Filmmaker, but discovered that he was more creative and efficient working by his own than under the wrong people. So, in 2008 he went on to found Provoke Films with his wife Liu Ming Fei.
Producing project work in nearly all media for exhibition in Europe, South America, Asia, and the United States, Ciro has been credited with work on projects including videos for Armin van Buuren, Armada Music, DarkBird Recordings, Nosa Recordings, Chinese Rapper DOM and AKM. Commercial work includes Taiwan's Green World Ecological Park, Glenfiddich, Cite Communication, Mio GPS, Inventec Appliances Corporation, along with a "Japanese Buddhist Altar" documentary created for the Ethnographic Ambrosetti Museum.
His last works have been featured at the 2009 NAB Event as the only Non-US content producer.
